Willow Chavez

Willow Chavez is a Tennessee-based Critical Care Paramedic and EMS Chief of Giles County EMS, serving in this leadership role since May of 2023. With a deep passion for advancing prehospital care, she is committed to training future cohorts of EMS providers and fostering strong leadership within the field. She believes in building future leaders who will promote a culture of support, excellence, and progression in EMS.

After 15 years of military service, Willow transitioned into various security roles before finding her calling in EMS. She progressed through EMT, AEMT and Paramedic education through Calhoun Community College while gaining field experience. She later attended Vanderbilt University’s Critical Care Paramedic program, obtaining her Tennessee Critical Care endorsement and FP-C certification. She also obtained her Community Paramedic Certification and furthered her education by earning a Master’s degree in Public Safety with a focus in EMS. Her career has taken her across Tennessee and Alabama as a field paramedic in high volume and rural services, as well as providing contract medical care and supervision for various entities nationwide.

Beyond her clinical work, Willow has extensive experience as an instructor in both military and EMS settings and remains dedicated to continuous education and advanced training. When she’s not working or training, she enjoys spending time with her husband and two boys, Elijah and James.
