Sarah Mattocks, MSN, RN, TCRN, NE-BC
Sarah Mattocks serves as the Trauma Program Director at UPMC Hamot, a Level II Trauma Center in Erie, Pennsylvania. She holds a BSN from Edinboro University of Pennsylvania and an MSN from Gannon University.
Beginning her nursing career in the emergency department, Sarah has dedicated over 17 years to trauma program leadership in coordinator, manager, and director roles. Her extensive involvement in professional organizations includes active membership in the Eastern Association for the Surgery of Trauma (EAST), where she served as the Society of Trauma Nurses (STN) – EAST Foundation Nurse Fellow in 2014. She previously held the position of treasurer for the Pennsylvania Trauma Nurse Advisory Council (PATNAC) and has contributed to various Pennsylvania Trauma Systems Foundation committees.
Sarah’s commitment to the Society of Trauma Nurses spans more than 17 years, during which she has served in multiple capacities, including past president of the STN board of directors and current co-chair of the TOPIC Committee. She regularly presents trauma topics to diverse multidisciplinary audiences at local, national, and international Levels.
In addition to her clinical and organizational leadership, Sarah works as a trauma center consultant and site surveyor for Pennsylvania and Arkansas. Above all professional achievements, she treasures her role as a single mother to her three children, which she considers her greatest joy and most important responsibility.
