
Reylon Meeks, BSN, MSN, PhD
Reylon is an RN, currently working as a consultant and pediatric subject matter expert for the American Heart Association. She has worked on the Pediatric Advanced Life Support and PEARS curriculums, authoring chapters and scenarios for both. She continues to teach in the hospital setting, providing education for physicians, residents and nursing staff. She served on the Pleasant Hill Fire Department for 22 years, the last 10 as Chief, and is recognized as the first female fire chief in the state of Iowa. Reylon was named the American Red Cross Hero of the Heartland in the fire division and was chosen one of One Hundred Great Iowa Nurses. Reylon currently sits on the County Board of Health and was appointed to the Governance committee on Interoperability for Iowa. Reylon holds a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in nursing, a Master’s degree in Education and has completed her PhD dissertation titled “Parent Presence in Pediatric Trauma Resuscitation”.
