Miguel Angel Luna

In 1988 Miguel Angel Luna became involved in the Emergency Medical Service in Northern Mexico, in Tamaulipas, a state bordering Texas. He served as a first responder and a rescuer in mountain and water rescue.

In 1990 Mr. Angel Luna joined the first EMT course of the Mexican Red Cross. In 1994, he was appointed Director of the State EMT school in Tamaulipas. Since then Mr. Angel Luna has dedicated himself to instruction to raise the level of prehospital medical care.

In 2006 Mr. Angel Luna founded the EREES Emergency Training Center. He became involved in the PHTLS program and, in 2014, Mr. Angel Luna was appointed national coordinator in Mexico under the direction of Dr. Norman McSwain and Will Chapleau.

Mr. Angel Luna has worked with the Mexican Navy and Presidential Guards in the development of the Combat Medicine Programs. He was part of the team that introduced the TCCC program to Brazil, Paraguay, Peru, Colombia.

Mr. Angel Luna currently directs the International Institute of Prehospital Medicine efforts for Mexico and Latin America for the formation of training sites and new instructors. He recently received the 35-year perseverance medal from the Mexican Red Cross.
