David Phiilip, MD
Dr. David Phillips is an Adult and Pediatric Neurosurgeon, and the Medical Director of Pediatric Neurosurgery at Good Samaritan University Hospital. He is an experienced neurosurgeon, with additional expertise in epilepsy surgery, hydrocephalus, and minimally invasive surgery. Dr. Phillips has completed fellowships in Neurotrauma and Neurocritical Care, and Pediatric Neurosurgery at UCSF. He has worked in academic medical centers in Canada, California and New York, winning awards for training residents and fellows in neurosurgery. Before entering a career in medicine, Dr. Phillips worked as a Mechantronics engineer, training astronauts, cosmonauts and mission controllers how to use the robotic equipment on the International Space Station. He consults at many of the Catholic Health facilities and at Long Island Brain and Spine clinics in West Islip and Smithtown.
